LIBN: ExcelAire OK'd to Fly into London City Airport
05/17/2013
Ronkonkoma-based ExcelAire has received approval to fly its five Embraer Legacy 600 business jets into London City Airport.
Flight crews and aircraft are required to receive special certification and training before being allowed to operate at London City Airport, the city’s closest airport to the London’s financial district. ExcelAire’s crews and Legacy jets recently passed muster on all those requirements. There are less than a dozen airports worldwide – none in the United States – where aircraft and their crews are required to meet certain requirements before flying there.
“Flying into London City Airport is one example of how private jet travel can offer passengers more convenient access to their destination,” ExcelAire President David Rimmer said. “With our London City approval, ExcelAire offers an option that few U.S. private jet operators can provide and it gives our business clients a competitive advantage.”
