Flightglobal: ExcelAire Targets Transfer Market

12/12/2012

"US business aviation services provider ExcelAire is at the show to promote its new international transfer service to Middle Eastern travelers.

The company, headquartered in Long Island, New York, has tailored this offering to passengers flying long-haul to the USA on a scheduled airline, then wanting to switch to a private jet for onward travel.

"It can be a very confusing for travelers flying into major international hubs to find their way to the business aviation terminals," says ExcelAire president David Rimmer. "We take all the stress and confusion out of the process by offering seamless transfer to their ExcelAire private jet."

The ExcelAire team will meet passengers at airline terminals and swiftly transfer them and their baggage to awaiting private jets for their connecting flight, he adds. The service is available at John F Kennedy and Newark airports in the New York metropolitan area, where ExcelAire has an FBO.

"We will offer our service across the USA [and] use our facilities in New Orleans and eventually in Chicago, [where an] FBO is set to open next year," says Rimmer.

He admits the business aviation services market has been "cut-throat in the last four years". However, ExcelAire's parent company Hawthorne Global Aviation Services - which snapped up the 27-year-old venture in January - is committed to expanding its FBO and 23-strong managed aircraft portfolio, says Rimmer."
