Hawthorne Global Aviation Services (“Hawthorne”), a leading general aviation services company, today announced that Thomas Auten has been named General Manager for its Atlanta FBO at Cobb County Airport (KRYY). The Atlanta facility is part of the growing network of Hawthorne FBOs located throughout the United States.
Mr. Auten will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Hawthorne Atlanta Cobb County FBO, which features more than 500,000 sq ft of hangar space, a 6,000 sq ft passenger terminal, and first class amenities such as pilot lounges and conference facilities. Hawthorne Atlanta also features extensive services for pilots including computer flight planning, weather service, after-hours fuel and emergency services. He is also overseeing the development of Hawthorne’s new U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility at Cobb County Airport, scheduled to open in mid 2015.
Mr. Auten has more than 40 years of experience in the FBO industry, most recently serving as General Manager for the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport FBO. Prior to that, he was General Manager for Piedmont Hawthorne, Lawrenceville, GA, overseeing daily operations for two FBO locations. He also held the position of General Manager for Million Air in Cobb County, GA and served as Executive Vice President and General Manager for Million Air overseeing its two Charleston area FBOs.
