CHICAGO, Ill., 18 March 2014. Hawthorne Global Aviation Services is expanding its fixed-base operator (FBO) network with the opening of its new FBO at Chicago Executive Airport (KPWK), featuring hangar, office space, and a range of services for passengers, crew, and private jet owners.

The Hawthorne Chicago FBO features 30,000 square feet of Class A hangar space, and is able to accommodate a range of private jets up to a Gulfstream G-650. In addition, it has a 10,000-square foot terminal for passengers and first-class amenities, such as pilot lounges and conference facilities. With extensive services for pilots, the Hawthorne Chicago FBO features computer flight planning and weather service, de-icing, and after-hours fuel and emergency services. It is also a full-service Shell fueling station.

Hawthorne began construction on the FBO at the Chicago Executive Airport in May 2013, and completed it in March 2014.
"We built this brand new facility to meet the growing demand for premier corporate and business aviation services in the Chicago area, a vibrant top three general aviation market in the United States," says Steven Levesque, president and CEO of Hawthorne Global Aviation Services. "With this FBO, it broadens our geographic footprint of FBOs throughout the U.S. to now include the largest market in the Midwest."

The FBO at Chicago Executive Airport expands the Hawthorne Global Aviation Services network of FBOs across North America that includes FBOs at MacArthur Airport in Islip, N.Y. (KISP), and Lakefront Airport in New Orleans (KNEW).
"With this brand new, state-of-the art facility at Chicago Executive Airport we offer the corporate and business aviation traveler the best and most convenient means of doing business in Chicago," says David Annin, general manager of the Chicago FBO.

Chicago Executive Airport is the fourth busiest airport in Illinois, includes three active runways on more than 412 acres, and plays a crucial role as a reliever for the region, which includes O'Hare International Airport, officials say. The airport is managed under the guidance of the Chicago Executive Airport Board of Directors, an advisory board of members from each municipality.
